Types of Wardrobes
Wardrobes are one of the most personal spaces in your bedroom. And if given proper attention, can also be the most stylish. Your wardrobe is essentially one of the most important parts of your bedroom, as it stores all that you value most – clothes, shoes, jewellery, accessories, and sometimes even pictures and memories- stuff you absolutely can’t do without.
While your wardrobe may be neat and organized on the inside, it also has to blend in well with your bedroom d?cor. A drab, bulky, and ancient wardrobe can mar the otherwise elegant and stylish interiors of any bedroom. Thus, choosing the right kind of wardrobe for your bedroom should be pretty high on your list, right there with the walls, flooring and of course, the bed. Once you have decided how you want to do your bedroom- whether to keep the d?cor minimalistic, bright and colourful, peaceful in earthy shades, or give an ethnic touch to it, ensure that your wardrobe is also in keeping with the overall look.
There are a number of wardrobe designs that you can pick from. The conventional two-door wardrobe has given way to three door wardrobes, wardrobes with sliding doors, pull-out wardrobes, walk-ins, those with stained glass doors, and many more. Here’s a rundown on some of the popular styles you can choose from.
Two door wardrobes
The two-door wooden wardrobe style is still the most popular and is ideal if you want to play it safe. These are usually made of wood, with the colours and textures varying according to the polishing. You can get them in oak, teak, mahogany, pine, ivory finish or even wooden textures, if you’re looking for a particular shade. You also have the option of getting mirrors on the two doors- usually full length. The two-door style is well tried and tested, and with the variety of styles it comes in, should go well with almost any kind of d?cor.
Three-door and Four-door wardrobes
The three door and four door wardrobes, are extensions of the traditional two door wardrobes. The extra doors make it easier for you to organize and group your stuff together. Sometimes, the two doors may end with an extension drawer, and the third door may give you access to a full-length wardrobe. Or, the three or four doors may be side by side, giving you just as much space as a two door wardrobe but with additional partitions. If you want a bigger wardrobe with more space in the form of shelves and drawers then three or four door wardrobes would be a great option.
Sliding door
The sliding door wardrobe lets you open your wardrobe in style. Instead of tugging at the heavy wooden doors, you can slide them open in style. These sliding doors are generally in glass, stained glass, or with a mirror finish. You can get them in two, three or even four door styles. Each door slides over the other to give you access to a particular section of the wardrobe. These give your room a very stylish and trendy look, and are a great option if you’re looking for something beyond the traditional wardrobe styles.
Pull-out wardrobes
These look like your conventional wardrobes on the outside, but the inside is designed for maximum convenience, and is high on user-friendliness. Hanging your clothes on hangers is something we all do, but often, taking them out again is a problem. Pull-out wardrobes let you pull out the rack so you can easily take off your clothes without even moving an inch. The drawers also sometimes are foldable or extended, and open out in such a way to grant you maximum and easy access! Innovative and easy on the effort, these make the whole wardrobe experience extremely convenient!
