    Quick weight loss with Fatloss4Idiots

    October 25th, 2008
    by Joel Riley

Having tried everything, sometimes you will wonder if ever you will ever get to lose any weight at all. With so many ways touted as a good way to lose weight quickly, none of the ways can help you to maintain your weight permanently. This article will show you one way how you can go about achieving weight loss quickly and at the same time get to eat naturally. Best of all, you don’t even have to exercise.

This diet plan works on the principle of “calories shifting”. By adopting this plan, you do not need to skip meals, eat any less than normal or even starve yourself a little. In fact, the opposite is true. You will need to consume more meals more frequently instead. All you have to do is to eat varying amounts of low calories and high calories foods. And when you do that, you are actually manipulating your metabolism rate to burn more fats within a shorter period of time. When you have done that, you will get to lose weight faster.

Our bodies is a very complex machine actually. It follows a series of patterns based on the kind of foods that we eat and the frequency that we eat. What it does is, it will anticipate our daily calories intake based on what we have been doing for years. When you eat low calories foods, our metabolic rate slows down to conserve energy. When that happens, the body will burn calories more slowly and thus the reason why you find losing weight is so hard.

But if you eat both high-calorie as well as low-calorie foods then your body will be able to detect your food patterns and will keep your metabolic rate at a high level at all times. With a high metabolic rate, you are able to burn fat quicker than usual. The quicker you burn fat, the faster you lose weight!

Now,If you bear the principle of “calories shifting” in mind, you can now begin to understand why most conventional diet “works” with only temporary effect. So if you wish to have a plan which have a longer effect then you should try Fatloss4Idiots diet plan which is based on the calories shifting principles. Losing 7 to 10 pounds within 10 days is very possible with this plan and you don’t even need to starve yourself.

This plan doesn’t even requires you to do exercises for it to be effective. All that is required on your part is to just eat a mixture of low and high calories food. However, personally I will still recommend that you do some light exercises so that you can even lose weight faster.

A Simple and Obvious Method for Weight Loss

    September 19th, 2008
    by Joel Riley

Nowadays, many people, just to lose weight and look good will pay substantial sums of money for diet pills or joins weight loss programs. However this need not always be the case because the most effective ways can just be the cheapest and most obvious as well. People because of it simplicity tend not to take notice of it until someone point it out to them. For this method to work, you just need a small investment in time.

The method is regular breakfast! Did you think I am going to recommend you a fad diet? Sorry, my friends, then I have really disappointed you! How do you think people managed to keep their weight at the optimum level when there were no diet pills or weight loss supplements? By NOT skipping breakfast! Too many people ignore the fact that they should have breakfast in the morning. Many busy professionals skip breakfasts on the pretext of ‘lack of time’. However, there are two reasons why skipping breakfasts can result in weight gain:

    1. Our body metabolism rate varies all the time. When we wake up, our metabolism rate is still low. With breakfast, we will begin to pick up our metabolism rate as the body start to burn the calories we consumed for more energy as we get started on our day. It is this energy which will actually help to keep us energetic throughout the whole day. If we do not jump start our metabolic rate with breakfast, then the whole day we will feel weak.

Now when you skip breakfast, your body’s source of energy is cut off, and therefore, your metabolic rate is slowed down. When your metabolic rate is high, you are able to burn fat at a very high speed, which is why you never gain extra weight. However, when your metabolic rate slows down, you will burn fat at a much slower speed, resulting in rapid weight again!

Although that is the main reason why skipping breakfast will make you gain weight, another cause of weight gain is more indirect.

    2. When you skipped Breakfast, you are more likely to compensate your food intake by stopping by the fast food restaurants. We all had seen TV adverts about fast food restaurants promoting their early morning breakfasts which saves you time. However we must not forget that fast food menus are generally full of calories. So when you start to eat regularly at fast food restaurants instead of home cooked breakfast, it is not surprising that you will gain weight very quickly.

This is why you should make sure that you never skip your breakfast, even for a day. What should you eat for breakfast? You should usually eat low-calorie foods such as raw vegetables and fruits for your breakfast; breads made from whole grain wheat are also good. Also make sure that you cook your food at home, rather than ordering it from a restaurant. This way you can make sure that what you are eating is not very rich in calorie content.

Avoid having chips and soda in your breakfast: they will fill your body with loads of empty and useless calories, which will automatically be deposited in your body as fat!

Weight Loss: Healthy Children’s Menus Tips

    August 21st, 2008
    by Joel Riley

Kids can be very picky when it comes to eating. For this reason alone, taking them out to eat can be a daunting experience

Kids can be encouraged through gentle prodding to try most new foods. If you make healthy food interesting, you may find they are more persuaded to eat it. It’s the habits they develop now that will follow them into adulthood

Trying apples and orange slices instead of French fries is a good start. Just making subtle changes is a great way to start a trend towards healthy eating. Make the changes stick by using persistence and patience, change doesn’t happen overnight

If they want the double cheeseburger, downsize it to a junior burger and don’t let them add all of the mayonnaise and fried bacon so that you can eliminate some unnecessary fat while keeping their diet more in the nutritious range.

It’s a nice alternative to take your child to the park for lunch. You can both enjoy the weather and your healthy lunch in the great outdoors. Fresh air and activity will help burn off the calories from lunch too, so it’s a good option.

Many restaurants where you sit down to eat have healthier menu options. If your child is rambunctious, go to one where the kids can color on their menu. Or play games with them until the food comes, like, ” I see something that starts with the letter A” – and let them have fun trying to guess what it is.

If you can change their eating habits now, they will carry this knowledge into adulthood and make better dietary choices.

Offer oatmeal, bagels, fruits and other healthy choices for breakfast and your kids will steer clear of the sugar laden pastries.

If you can find new recipes, or “hide” ingredients, you may be able to get your kids to eat their fruits and veggies in deference to junk food. Be firm and inventive and always make food fun for kids.

What to and not to Give to Kids After School for Snacks

    August 19th, 2008
    by Joel Riley

When kids are in school, sometimes there’s a long stretch between lunch and the end of school so when they get home, they are hungry. It’s up to you to choose the appropriate snacks for them to make a healthy choice.

Many parents feed their children foods such as cookies and processed foods. While these give quick energy, they’re not the best choice for your child. Instead of high calorie, high fat treats you need to focus on foods that will provide good nutrition for your child.

An inexpensive and healthy snack for your kids for an after school treat is veggies with dig or dressing. Even if the dip or dressing has added fat, it’s still much better than dipping into the cookie jar.

The best snack for your kids after school hunger pains are fresh fruits of all kinds. These give your kids a great deal of vitamins and will also satisfy their sweet tooth. Keep them ready and available for your kids for easy access.

Certainly the best alternative to give your kids for snacks are natural types of food such as nuts, dried or dehydrated fruit, cheese, or popcorn. And always offer then a glass of milk instead of soda or imitation fruit juice.

Generally speaking, the best snack foods for your kids are those that are low in sugar and high in natural vitamins. The less preservatives the better and all that extra coloring they add; it’s not good for them either.

Kids want taste and sometimes vegetables and fruit just won’t satisfy them. Let them dip their snacks in peanut better which adds a lot of vitamins and protein but doesn’t add calories.

Unfortunately, many snacks that are marketed for children aren’t the best things for them. As a parent, you’ll have to be diligent to make sure your children are eating foods that are good for them.

How to Make Exercising Fun for Your Child

    August 18th, 2008
    by Joel Riley

To maintain your children’s health it is important that they get proper exercises. But we all know the difficulties of pulling a child’s attention will be Video game or TV.

You can make exercise fun for your child. Here are a few simple ideas to get you started:

Play Games. When an adult exercises, we tend to follow the structure way of exercising. Children however, do not need this way to keep fit. They require more fun activities instead. Thus the more they move, the more their muscles are exercised. And also their heart beat rate will also go up.

Playing Frisbee, basketball, soccer, tag, duck duck goose, or ring around the rosy can be just as effective as a structured workout would be. Even better, your kids won’t know they’re exercising. They’ll just be having fun.

Encourage Outdoor Play. Playing outdoor is also good for your kids. As they move around, they will be exerting themselves. As such, let them play outside more.

If you have no choices, then take your kids to the park. Allow him to bring a friend or two. This way he can have more fun with his friends while being physically active. Water activity can also be another alternative.

If you have a swimming pool available, encourage your child to go swimming (supervised, of course). If a pool isn’t available, try turning on the sprinkler in the yard and letting your child run around in it.

Active Video Games. Using Video game can also be a fun way for kids to be physically active. There are video games providers who had created interactive games like dance dance revolution take requires physical movements to participate in the game.

These are some of the ways, where you can encourage a child to be active physically. Even then, these encouragements should be developed into habits for it to have a permanent result on their physical well being.

Weight Loss Diets: Better Ingredients for your Favorite Food

    August 14th, 2008
    by Joel Riley

Switching around your diet isn’t something most people are happy about. They think it is going to be a cycle of misery and deprivation

You can eat healthy foods that are good for you and be happy too. You don’t have to give up every rich food you enjoy, using common sense and moderation is the key. You can switch ingredients and still enjoy your food without having it laden with fat and empty calories.

Bacon – A lot of our favorite recipes have bacon in them. You can still use bacon, but try a healthier version of it. Turkey bacon is healthier for you and most people like the taste of it. Another option is to use fake bacon since it has fewer fat grams and calories.

If you want to try cutting back on eggs, you can always use only the egg whites or using an egg substitute. Using egg substitutes in baking is a great way to save fat and calories and still be able to enjoy eggs in your diet.

Try using whole wheat flours and pasta in place of bleached white flour. Using wheat flour in baking is another healthy alternative.

Olive oil is a tasty alternative to using lard and or butter in flavoring foods. It is healthier and better to use this in replacing corn oil; it saves you fat content and can result in weight loss.

Chicken is a great food, as a source of dietary protein. Remember to leave the skin, it is the least healthy part of chicken.

Cocoa – Using cocoa instead of real chocolate for some dishes will be a healthier choice to make. It also gives you more control of what amount of sugar you want to place within the dish.

Honey is an alternative to using artificial sweeteners’ or real sugar in recipes. Honey has antibacterial qualities and is good for your body. You will find people are less sensitive to honey than to other artificial replacements.

Eat healthier, but don’t give up all of your favorite dishes before you find out if there are healthier alternative ingredients you can use instead of some of the unhealthier ones that you normally put in your recipes.

Fad diets, the other side of the story.

    July 29th, 2008
    by Joel Riley

I have a friend who is overweight and she has tried every diet plan there is; most of those being fad diets. The fact is, the people who create these so called miracle diets don’t really care if you lose weight or not or if the diet plan destroys your health; all they care about is getting your money. Individuals need to research and check with their doctors if the diet plan they have chosen is right for them.

There are many physicians who are quite skeptical about fad diets and have strong opinions concerning the well being of the person who decides to use this type of plan to lose weight. Diets such as The Atkins or cabbage soup diets will give you fast weight loss results, but they are also quite unhealthy and can and have caused people to have real physical illnesses. Also, the problem with these types of fad diets is that once you get off the plan, you gain all that weight back again. Fad diets are designed for you to eat a great deal of food in one meal and then skip the rest of the meals. This is by far the least healthy way to try to lose weight. It is much better for you to drop the weight slowly, eating three balanced meals a day consisting of the right types of food that work with your body. Including a regular exercise routine combined with a healthy diet is the safest way to lose weight. In fact, an overweight person who is physically active can be much healthier than a person who is thin but does not exercise.

There is a misconception about carbohydrates; they don’t make you gain weight. Carbs are the fuel for your body and is essential for energy. Many fad diets will eliminate carbohydrates from your diet, which can lead to dangerous consequences. A person needs to measure their BMI (Body Mass Index) to find out if indeed they really do need to lose weight or if they just think they do. Fad diets feed on what society thinks is “the perfect body” and thus many people think they need to shed some pounds when actually all they need to do is exercise and tone up. Granted, it is imperative to lose some weight if your doctor deems you overweight or even obese, as carrying that extra weight can lead to heart problems as well as diabetes and hypertension. In the case of being overweight or obese you should certainly consult your doctor and let him or her put you on the appropriate diet that is suited for you and don’t just take it upon yourself to try a fad diet that is not guaranteed to work or have lasting results.

Any food can be eaten even if you are on a diet. Reducing weight is all about having balanced food and calculating your calories intake properly. A human body is not designed to be on a fat-free schedule for days. All you need to be aware of is the amount of calorie intake in a meal. The fad diets encourage restriction on certain food items which is not wise to do. Eat a balanced meal and break a meal into three or four parts to increase the number of meals.

The proper way to lose weight is always about exercises and proper calories intake planning. It is not about substituting one kind of food for another. Don’t let the diet dictate the kind of food you eat but rather you decide. Eat what you like only just be aware of your calories intake and the way your body function. For example a spicy acidic takes longer to digest. In short, there no shortcut to weight loss. The answer to losing weight doesn’t lies with fad diet.
