Homemade Tips: Follow it For Hair Dyes
April 23rd, 2010After being conducted a survey, it has been seen that hair is the most important part that every individual cares about. Be it hair fall or colouring or styling your hair, this part of your body gains most of the attention. So, here we are with some homemade tips that can be used to dye your hair and that too without any side effects.
The very first method is take henna powder with 4-5 tablespoon if you have to apply it to lesser area and that too within the portions where you have grey hair. You can add lemon juice, one tablespoon of curd and a tablespoon coffee powder along with the henna powder. One tablespoon of tea powder and amla mixture is also necessary for the mixture that you prepare as it gives blacker colouration to your hair. Mustard oil should be added to this preparation and half tablespoon should be enough but that should be devoid of any kind of moisture. You should keep this mixture in a vessel of iron for around 2 hours and after this, you just need to apply this mixture on your scalp. Leave this for about 3-4 hours on your hair and then rinse it off with water.
Another way of dying your hair is mixing coffee powder with the henna powder and further adding mixture of sage and rosemary in it. Further, add egg yolk by mixing it with henna and brandy in it. Next, just apply it on your scalp and hair, leave it for 3 to 4 hours, and then wash off with lukewarm water. If you just want to grey your hair then another mixture is preferable and that is adding mixture of rosemary and sage. Leave this mixture with water to rinse off for about half an hour, once it is simmered just remove it from pan and allow mixture to steep for few hours. Apply this to your hair, dry it and further wash your hair with any normal shampoo. For much darker hair, you can again repeat the same procedure.
Another homemade method for dying your hair is taking litharge and quicklime. Further keep it in a bottle and then apply it to your hair by mixing the preparation either by water or mil. This will show your effective result on your hair. One good way is with the use of dish wash soap, as it is said to effectively removing the hair dye. To have result that is more effective on your hair to get off with dye stains, you can add baking soda and lemon juice to the dish wash. Try to keep on rubbing it on the area until all the stains fade away.
Similarly, you have many other homemade remedies for face, neck and every part of your body. You just need to take care of your body parts and with this solution, you are sure to achieve great results. Electroshock weapon technology uses a temporary high-voltage low-current electrical discharge to override the body’s muscle-triggering mechanisms. The recipient is immobilized via two metal probes connected via metal wires to the electroshock device.

The output current upon contact with the target will depend on various factors such as target’s resistance, skin type, moisture, bodily salinity, clothing, the electroshock weapon’s internal circuitry, discharge waveform, and battery conditions.
Manufacturers’ instructions and manuals shipped with the products state that a half-second shock duration will cause intense pain and muscle contractions, startling most people greatly.
Two to three seconds will often cause the subject to become dazed and drop to the ground, and over three seconds will usually completely disorient and drop an attacker for at least several seconds.

No doubt, man’s best friend is a trustworthy dog but in times like these, you can’t even trust those dogs anymore. Especially the unfriendly mutts and they are definitely capable of doing more than just typical snarls and growls.
A friend of mine used to love those early morning walks on crisp spring mornings. He would enjoy the peaceful stroll around the track when one fateful day, his casual “walk” turned into a marathon.
It was 6 AM and he decided to start early. He started off normally on his daily route when all of a sudden he heard a menacing growl at some distance, behind his back.
He stood dead in his track and turned around hesitantly, only to find the meanest looking dog staring at him. The poor guy startled and made a run for it but it only made the crazy mutt more excited.
The dog wasn’t just standing there showing him the eyes anymore and this whole experience turned out to be a lot messier than it was before.
With crazy dogs on the street you just can’t mind your own business anymore. As long as these dogs are not on a leash, they hold a threat to anyone.
Unfortunately my friend wasn’t lucky enough that day because the dog was all over his face in a matter of minutes. A few guys in the distance saw the whole commotion and came to the rescue.

Keeping Kids Entertained During the Holiday Meals

But, to keep kids from wrecking your house and hassling the adults, you have to keep them entertained. Unable to keep up with the enticing conversation of the adults, kids can become bored fairly easy.
One way to make sure that the kids at your gatherings are entertained is to designate a table for them. Kids can get bored of adult-talk or can hear things that they shouldn’t at the adult table, so keeping them at a table with other children will keep them occupied with each other. And keeping little activities like puzzles, playing cards, or other toys at the kids’ table can help keep them playing together and not with your expensive knick-knacks.
Wine, champagne, and other alcoholic drinks are a part of the holidays in some households. And, of course, the kids can’t really enjoy these drinks, but giving them their own special drinks will satisfy them. Sparkling wine looks a lot like champagne and makes the kids feel like they are a part of the celebration also.

Kids love to be recognized for their helpfulness. After dinner or present opening, you can have the children work together in cleaning up after the mess. This actually keeps them occupied and lessens the work you have to do. And while the kids are stacking the dishes in the sink or dishwasher, all of the adults can enjoy the company of the adult guests.
Some families come over the stay days before the actual holiday. And when you have kids staying the night at your house with nothing to do, keeping them entertained is very important. Arts and crafts like making cards, placemats, and decorating are a kid favorite. And while they do all of the crafts, you can finish planning and cooking without disruptions.
If you have your family and friends coming over for the holidays, sometimes they can bring their kids. And getting them involved and occupying them during the holiday gatherings will keep them and yourself happy.

The Importance of Entertaining in the Modern World

Many of these gatherings are formal events, social gatherings, holiday festivities, and family get-togethers. Whatever the reason it’s always been part of every culture regardless of geography. However in recent years it’s seen a revival as people are realizing how disconnected we have become as a society.
Technology is everywhere and for the past 20 years we’ve been embracing every new gadget, TV upgrade, media craze, and social networking site with glee. However as we went down this road we began to lose touch with family members and friends. Sure we could still talk to one another but the actual human interaction was decreasing. Recently with the decline of the economy people are realizing that people matter most and are starting to entertain in their homes again.
This belief isn’t something that can be categorized into political or religious ideologies, but is something that is deeply rooted in human nature. Humans are social creatures and although we can deal with being alone for extended periods of time we need interaction with other humans to help us stay healthy. This interaction can be anything from simply playing a game of cards every Friday night to watching a movie with the entire extended family every so often.
One of the joys of entertaining is being able to cook for a multitude of friends and loved ones as well. While this may sound a bit silly many people both women and men enjoy cooking for their friends and family. This cooking can be simple burgers that take a few minutes to complex meals that take a few hours. Regardless of how long it takes to prepare food most of us are just happy to have guests and provide for them.
Holidays in particular are events where you’ll find a lot of good cooking when it comes entertaining. Family members all have their own unique recipes and someone’s aunt always brings that special pecan pie to the table with them. Of course before the main meal is served most people offer snacks like crackers, cheeseballs, fruits, and veggies. This is just one example of holiday entertaining and everybody’s family has their own variations.
Aside from the social and mental benefits of entertaining it can also serve another purpose. Having your friends and family over often gives you a chance to strengthen your bonds with them. These bonds are what get you through those tough times in life and most of us don’t put as much effort into them as we should. All you have to do is spend some time with them and talk.
Despite the importance society puts on technology at the end of the day all you have is your family and friends. Entertaining allows you to get together with them to relax, have fun, celebrate the holidays, and just hang out. It’s important to do this often because when times get rough they will need to rely on you, and you will need to rely on them. Remember you don’t need a special occasion to have people over, simply tell them their coming over and fix dinner for them.

Sesame Street Invitations – Making 1st Birthdays Special!
November 29th, 2009Homemade Sesame Street invitations is the place to start when creating that very special 1st birthday party. Your little one will thank you for taking a walk down one of their favorite streets – Sesame Street that is!
SESAME STREET INVITATIONS – FEATURING BIG BIRD
Cut 8 1/2″ x 11″ shiny orange cardstock into 4 pieces.
Type or hand-write your party details in calligraphy on a piece of light tangerine scrapbook paper, that has a faint complimentary pattern.
Cut each finished piece of scrapbook paper with decorative scissors so that they measure 3″ x 4 1/2″ and glue to the 4 pieces of cardstock.
Decorate the corners with Big Bird stickers and embellish the edges with yellow glitter.
On the reverse side, decorate with Big Bird stickers and die cuts of letters and numbers.
Place invitations into bright orange envelopes. Decorate them with Big Bird stickers and either hand-deliver or mail to your guests.
SESAME STREET INVITATIONS – FEATURING YOUR BABY
Cut 8 1/2″ x 11″ shiny yellow cardstock into 2 pieces and fold in half.
Using decorative scissors, trim the edges of a photo of your baby in their favorite Sesame Street character costume, so that the photo is slightly smaller than the cardstock.
Glue the photo to the front of the invitation. Put “Come Celebrate My 1st Birthday!” above the photo.
On decorative paper (finished size 4 1/2″ x 7 1/2″) either type or hand-write in calligraphy the party details. Then glue to the cardstock.
Place your invitations in a colorful envelope and decorate with Sesame Street stickers. Either hand-deliver or mail out your invitations to your guests.
SESAME STREET INVITATIONS – FEATURING COOKIE MONSTER
Make or buy extra-large chocolate chip cookies and wrap each one in blue cellophane.
Type or hand-write in calligraphy, your party information on large adhesive labels.
Place a label on the back of each cookie, and a large Cookie Monster sticker on the front.
Hand-deliver your cookie invitations to your guests.
SESAME STREET INVITATIONS – FEATURING ELMO’S FACE
Cut a large oval from shiny red cardstock for Elmo’s head. Then cut a small circle from shiny orange cardstock to create his nose. Lastly, cut an open-shaped mouth from either shiny black cardstock or black felt.
To create Elmo’s face, start by gluing the orange nose and black mouth to the red oval. Finish his face by gluing large goggly eyes above his nose.
On the reverse side, type or hand-write in calligraphy, the party details.
Place your Elmo invites into a colorful envelope and decorate with Sesame Street stickers, or hand-deliver them to your guests.
EMBELLISH READY-MADE SESAME STREET INVITATIONS
Buy ready-made Sesame Street invitations featuring Big Bird and embellish the picture. Add wiggly eyes, yellow feathers on the body, and red felt for the mouth.
For a variation to this idea, download your favorite Sesame Street character and glue the picture to a piece of cardstock. Then embellish the picture. For example, you could add blue yarn loops to a picture of the Cookie Monster or green glitter to Oscar the Grouch.

BOAT
If at all possible, try to hold the party on a boat. Perhaps a friend has a makeshift “ark” they are willing to “gift” to your child for their party. This “prop” will immediately set the tone for your Noah’s Ark birthday party.
If a boat just isn’t available, then make a huge ark that covers one of your party room walls. Your best option for creating this would be to use butcher paper and paint it brown. Be sure to add windows to your ark, so you can place a photo of each child attending the party in one of the windows. They will all enjoy seeing themselves “floating” in the ark! Of course, no ark is complete unless you fill it with animals. Attach animal Mylar balloons, two of each animal type, to your ark. Finish it off by making wavy blue water from construction paper or cardstock and glue it to the ark’s bottom. Add a colorful rainbow and a white dove in the sky.
SIGNS/YARD STAKES
Make various Noahs Ark decorations to cover your walls. Signs are always a great option and they can also be attached to yard stakes and used to line the walkway entrance. Have them say things like “Caution! Flooding Ahead”, “I’m Flooded With Excitement”, “Welcome to (child’s Name)’s Ark”, “Animal Crossing”, etc.
CEILING DECOR
Cut various animal shapes (two of each animal type) from craft foam or construction paper, using animal stencils as your guide. Hang them from your ceiling at various lengths using fishing line.
Noahs Ark decorations would not be complete without an array of color demonstrated by turning your entire ceiling into a delightful rainbow. Cover it with rows of twisted streamers in all the various colors of the rainbow — red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.
Accent your rainbow ceiling further and bring the splendor of this theme to life. Add large clusters of balloons, with curling ribbons cascading off them, in any combination of the rainbow colors, at all the corners of the room.
DOORWAYS & ARCHWAYS
To help solidify and define your party area, decorate your doorways and archways with streamers, by alternating the various colors of the rainbow across the openings.
PLACEMATS
Create “rainbow” placemats by gluing ark-shaped pieces of construction paper in the various rainbow colors onto a solid piece of paper. Laminating them will not only provide stability, but will also make for an easy clean-up. Just one or two quick wipes and they are ready to be given to your guests as party favors.
CENTERPIECE
Noahs Ark decorations must also include a special centerpiece. Cut the top off a clean 1/2 gallon milk carton. Cover it with a solid colored wrapping paper. Decorate with Noah’s Ark stickers or download pictures of Noah’s Ark characters and animals and glue them to all of the sides. Fill the decorated container with a weighted bouquet of Mylar Noah’s Ark balloons, colorful tissue paper, and accent with curling ribbons.
Be sure to flood your party with plenty of animals, and you are guaranteed to have a roaring good time!

Horse Birthday Party Ideas To Help You Create The “Mane” Event!

INVITATIONS
Using a die-cut horse or horseshoe as a pattern, cut these out of tan cardstock to form your invitation. Using a gel pen, write out your party details in calligraphy. On one side write, “Gallop! Don’t Trot on Over for a Rootin’ Tootin’ Wild Horse Birthday Party! On the reverse side, write all of the following party details:
Big, Bad Birthday Roundup On: (date and time of party)
Meet Us At The O.K. Coral Located At: (address of party)
R.S.V.P. To The Stable Boy/Girl: (parent’s name & phone #)
HORSE BIRTHDAY PARTY DECORATIONS
Using a little imagination, creativity, and lots of horse-themed decorations, ya’ll be able to rope in your little fillies and colts in no time. We reckon some of the following decorations will strike your fancy:
As guests arrive, send them over to the branding station where they will be identified as V.I.P.G.’s (Very Important Party Goers) with a special “branding” iron. Use rubber stamps or tattoos.
Decorate ceilings with 2 different colored twisted streamers and clusters of balloons with curling ribbons.
Use horseshoes as a balloon weight to display floor balloon bouquets throughout room.
Add a horsey table runner down the center of your party table. Either make one horse-printed fabric or dismantle a horse calendar and affix the photos to a piece of fabric and lay it down the center of the table.
Cover your party tables with burlap and sprinkle strands of hay on top, like you would confetti, and tie off the corners using licorice laces.
Create a Bryer horse display in the center of your table using a few horses, along with some mini hay bales, fencing, and horse tack. Attach a bouquet of balloons in the center.
If you have access to horse tack, then opt for making an extra-special photo opt area by displaying hay bales, a saddle, and a western mural (made from western posters) on a wall or fence and take photos of each of your little cowpokes.
HORSE BIRTHDAY PARTY GAMES & ACTIVITIES
Hold your horses! We reckon it’s time for some horse play!
Horseshoes – For older kids use real horseshoes and for younger kids use plastic or rubber horseshoes or make horseshoe rings from rope.
Stack Them Cubes! – Each wrangler has a pile of sugar cubes. When you say “Giddy-up” wranglers race to build the tallest stack of sugar cubes in a timed period.
Horse Race – Create a life-size “game board” in your yard using carpet squares. Lay them out in a Candyland Game fashion. Add a few obstacles like saw horses, galvanized buckets, bales of hay, etc. then have all your horsies (guests) compete to the finish line. Write numbers 0-3 on index cards, along with a command like gallop, trot, run, canter, whinny, neigh. As the cards are drawn, they move forward the number of spaces on the card, while performing command. For example, move forward 2 spaces while trotting.
