A Review of Hoodoba Hoodia Diet Pills
July 8th, 2008Hoodoba hoodia diet pills came across my radar and I automatically thought they were probably just like many other hoodia diet products-phonies or a low dose hoodia product. Before I formed a solid opinion, I decided to check the company out. I was surprised to see they not only had C.I.T.E.S. certificates, but lab test results that proved the authenticity of their hoodia pills. I was wrong! Hoodoba is an authentic hoodia gordonii supplement.
The next step I took was to find out if the Hoodoba hoodia diet pills were packed full of other ingredients besides hoodia. A lot of companies will put other ingredients in their capsules along with their hoodia. I was surprised to see that Hoodoba only contained hoodia. It didn’t have any additives, fillers or stimulants in their capsules. Very impressive!
I was really surprised to find that Hoodoba uses veggie capsules instead of gelatin capsules. This is good news to someone who has digestive problems and who doesn’t want to bother with pulling apart gelatin capsules. Hoodoba uses veggie caps for all of their hoodia diet pills.
The only negative thing I can say about Hoodoba is their site. While it is professional, I personally didn’t care for the typical marketing/sales tone of it. Consumers need to be told that hoodia isn’t a magic pill-no matter what company they are buying it from. People will need to also exercise and eat sensibly to reach their weight loss goals long-term.
Despite that one negative, I will report that Hoodoba hoodia diet pills are economically priced and consumers have a choice of purchasing 400mg or 750mg capsules. Either product will work. Yet, I feel that the better financial deal is the 750mg capsules. A bottle of these will last longer because individuals won’t have to take as many.
The company’s 30-day money back guarantee on unopened bottles is very impressive. There are a minority of people who unfortunately don’t have results with hoodia of any kind. So, if you find you fall into the minority, you can always return your bottles for a refund.
I couldn’t find any negatives about the Hoodoba hoodia diet pills to report. The company prices their hoodia pills affordably, they are definitely authentic and powerful, and the 30 day money back guarantee should alleviate any fears about the product. I give it two thumbs up.
Curb Your Appetite and Lose Weight Fast with Desert Burn Hoodia
June 25th, 2008Many people have been reporting positive results with Desert Burn hoodia. Some are claiming they have lost as much as 40-50 pounds in six months with this diet supplement. As a skeptic, I had to find out for myself if the hype around Desert Burn was real or just savvy marketing. If you have done any research on hoodia at all, you know there are many counterfeit hoodia supplements around. I’m pleased to say that Desert Burn is the real deal. Anyone who is looking for authentic hoodia gordonii diet pills can feel comfortable purchasing this product.
After doing my research I found out why it works. The company that manufacturers Desert Burn is getting their hoodia straight from the source-the country of South Africa-and they only use the part of the hoodia gordonii plant that has the appetite suppressant qualities in it. They also do not put anything else in their capsules such as fillers, additives and stimulants. Desert Burn is pure hoodia gordonii.
The fact that the Desert Burn website posts independent lab tests results that are randomly done on their hoodia capsules says a lot to me. Consumers can see for themselves what is in the capsules-and it is 100% hoodia gordonii. Unlike other companies, the manufactures of Desert Burn don’t have to use a lot of ploys or outrageous claims to keep their customers coming back. There is nothing to hide because Desert Burn speaks for itself. People that use it consistently are reaching their weight loss goals in just a few months.
Red flags go up for me when I see outrageous claims for hoodia supplements like, “Lose 20 Pounds in Two Weeks,” or “Drop 10 Inches in Your Waist in a Month”. A lot of this is just hype because many of these products do not contain enough of the beneficial parts of the hoodia plant in them to curb anyone’s appetite. Generally, people need around 2,250 to 3,000mg of hoodia per day to suppress their appetites. Any hoodia capsules that contain less than 400mg of hoodia are really just a waste of money. Desert Burn’s 750mg capsules are very potent. This high dosage of hoodia means fewer pills will be needed and a bottle will last longer. When you take into account that Desert Burn is also a very affordable product, it’s a very smart hoodia diet pill choice.
The only thing that I can say that I don’t like about Desert Burn is they don’t offer consumers the choice of purchasing veggie capsules. Vegetable capsules are important for people who have digestive problems. Yet, these people can still use Desert Burn. They will just need to open the capsules and mix the powder into a drink, or use Desert Burn’s liquid hoodia supplement or their other hoodia products such as their hoodia tea and coffee.
The other thing I don’t much care for in regards to Desert Burn is the company’s website. It’s a bit overwhelming. It has automated music and the site is a bit unorganized. However, it has no bearing on the product itself and the website is something that can always be changed. On the plus side, the representatives at Desert Burn are very friendly and helpful.
In summary, Desert Burn hoodia passed my tests with flying colors. It’s powerful and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for authentic and affordable hoodia diet pills to help curb their appetite when trying to lose weight.
Pure Hoodia Gordonii and the Importance of the CITES Certificate
June 18th, 2008If you are in the market for hoodia diet pills, you have probably heard about CITES certificates. CITES certificates can help you locate pure hoodia gordonii products and steer you away from products that don’t use pure hoodia. I often wonder how many consumers really understand what CITES certificates are all about and what they represent in the hoodia market. I hope this article will shed some light on the topic for you.
As you probably already know, the hoodia gordonii plant is in high demand. But, did you know that it is a protected species and it’s in limited supply? Until recent years the cactus like plant only grew in the wild in South Africa. But, due to the increased demand for the plants weight loss effects, many people have taken to farming the plant. In order to protect the plant and the San people who have an interest in their native plant, the South African government has put regulations on the hoodia gordonii plant. This means there are licenses, regulations and controls for the growing, harvesting and exportation of the plant.
One of the basic regulations put in place for the endangered hoodia gordonii is the implementation of the CITES certificate. CITES stands for the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. This is basically an agreement between governments that ensures that international trade of the plant doesn’t threaten its survival. There are other regulations and documents that are required, too, but for the sake of this article I am only going to discuss the CITES certificate.
In order for a company to legally export hoodia gordonii from South Africa, an export permit from CITES must be obtained. Every shipment exported from South Africa must be accompanied by a CITES permit. These permits expire in six months, but the expiration period only pertains to the actual shipment of hoodia gordonii out of South Africa. In other words, a supplier has six months from the time they are issued a CITES permit to actually ship the hoodia gordonii out of South Africa. If they don’t and the shipment of hoodia sits in the port, the supplier must reapply for a new permit.
There has been a lot of confusion about the dates on CITES permits. Some people are made to believe that the dates on these permits must be “current” or the company involved in the selling of hoodia gordonii is shady or lying. A CITES certificate that is outdated or old is just that – which means the six month window of exportation has expired.
Suppose a supplier exports several thousand kilograms of hoodia on one permit, and that inventory of hoodia gordonii doesn’t actually sell out for eight or nine months. The original CITES permit, along with the original issue date shown on the permit, will always be attached to that inventory. Even though the date on the CITES permit will be older than six months, that CITES permit is still valid and still provides proof that the hoodia gordonii used is authentic. Keep that in mind as you are looking at CITES certificates from companies you are considering buying from. An older date doesn’t necessarily mean the CITES permit is invalid and the hoodia gordonii used isn’t real.
Another point to keep in mind is that the company or supplier shown on a CITES certificate doesn’t always match the name of the company selling the actual end product. For example, you may be interested in buying a hoodia supplement from “Helen’s Health Company” so you go to their website and you view their CITES certificate. Everything checks out except you notice the supplier shown on the permit is a company called, “Supplier Incorporated.” Shouldn’t the company listed on the permit be Helen’s Health Company? Not always.
There are only a few suppliers who are issued CITES permits. Supplement companies then buy their hoodia gordonii from these few suppliers. In the example above, Supplier Incorporated is listed on the permit so that means they were the actual supplier that exported the hoodia gorodnii. Helen’s Health Company is displaying a CITES certificate issued to Supplier Incorporated so that means Helen’s Health purchased the hoodia gordonii they use in their products from Supplier Incorporated.
It’s important that you understand that just because a website display a CITES certificate isn’t a guarantee that the company is packaging pure hoodia gordonii into their products. As you probably know, there are no regulations on supplements, so companies can make claims about their products, even if they may not be true.
The CITES permit doesn’t regulate what happens to the plant once it’s exported. The CITES certificate only serves as a sign that pure hoodia gordonii plants were exported from South Africa. A supplement company can do whatever they want with it once it is in their possession. They may even claim to be packaging 500mg of hoodia gordonii into their capsules when they really may not be.
I hope you now understand the importance of CITES certificates. Understanding what they are, and what they aren’t, should help you when you go to purchase pure hoodia gordonii.
Beware Those Free Hoodia Trials Aren’t What You Think
June 12th, 2008Free hoodia samples are very popular these days thanks to the demand for hoodia gordonii. For those of you unfamiliar with hoodia gordonii, it’s a natural appetite suppressant that has the potential to help people control what they eat so that they can lose weight. As an all-natural diet supplement that has been proven to be very safe with virtually no side effects, it has become one of the most popular weight loss supplements today.
With so many brands of hoodia available, it is only natural that supplement companies offer to give consumers free hoodia samples. Of course, companies hope that once you try their hoodia you will come back and buy more. Many people see giving away free hoodia samples as a win-win situation for everyone involved. The consumer gets free hoodia samples and the company gets a potential customer.
Yet, there is an ugly side to free hoodia samples that you need to know about. With some people reporting that nearly 80% of the hoodia being sold are actually fakes, trying these products probably won’t do you any good! Only hoodia products that are made with authentic hoodia gordonii work to suppress the appetite. Trying free samples of an inferior or fake product can make you believe that all hoodia doesn’t work – and that’s not true.
Before you agree to receive free hoodia samples from a company, make sure the hoodia they are offering you is authentic and not fake. The two easiest ways to identify real hoodia from fake hoodia is to view the company’s CITES certificates and their lab test results which were completed through an independent lab.
To legally export hoodia gordonii from its native country of South Africa, companies must obtain CITES certificates. Without one, companies are not allowed to export hoodia gordonii from South Africa. Companies that have purchased authentic hoodia from South Africa will display their CITES certificates to prove their product is the real deal. They will also go a step further and have their hoodia randomly tested by independent labs that verify the plant’s authenticity.
Displaying CITES certificates and lab test results is how genuine companies convey to consumers that the hoodia products being sold on their sites are indeed authentic. If you visit a website offering free hoodia samples and you can’t locate their CITES certificates or lab test results, you are probably looking at a company that doesn’t use authentic hoodia gordonii in their supplements. Getting free hoodia samples from these sites is just a waste of time on your part. They won’t work.
You should know that most companies will have you pay the shipping and handling on any free samples they send you. Also, sometimes agreeing for free hoodia samples may mean you are agreeing to be autoshipped more products at full price down the road.
When you are signed up in an autoship program, a company may ship you a 30 or 60 day supply of their hoodia every month or so. These programs can be cost effective and convenient if you are dealing with a company that is producing authentic hoodia gordonii supplements.
The key with these free hoodia trials is knowing how easy it is to cancel the trial and to prevent being enrolled in the autoship program if you don’t like the product (or to cancel the autoship program once you’re enrolled in it). Most of these offers would have you believe it’s easy to cancel. Unfortunately, that’s not usually the case.
There have been horror stories by consumers who have had their credit ruined by accepting these free hoodia samples because they can’t cancel the trial so their credit card gets charged every month. This happens because a representative from the company can’t be reached to cancel or they ignore the request. The result is you stay enrolled in the program and your credit card keeps getting charged month after month!
You need to do your due diligence before agreeing to these offers by reading the fine print. If you read the terms and conditions, you will see a telephone number or an email address to use when you want to cancel. Before you accept these free hoodia samples, you should call the number to see if you can reach a live person. If you do, ask them questions about the offer and get a feel for the company.
You should do the same with any email addresses that are given to you. Send out an email to the address to see if you get a personal response from someone. Did they answer your questions? Did they get back to you in a timely fashion? If you can’t reach a live person, or if your emails are ignored, forego the free hoodia trial. It probably isn’t worth the hassle you may find yourself in down the road.
These free hoodia trials can be a smart way to try hoodia without spending a lot of money, but you need to be careful before you hand over your credit card information. By following these simple guidelines you’ll be able to find legitimate free hoodia samples that won’t just empty your wallet!
Hoodia 60 Minutes and Hoodia BBC Reports Are Being Misrepresented
May 26th, 2008I do a lot of research and writing on hoodia supplements. I realized that I haven’t written about the hoodia 60 minutes and BBC reports. I feel it’s important to bring these reports up because they are being twisted around on many websites. The claim that 60 minutes and the BBC endorsed a specific brand of hoodia diet pills is bogus. Don’t believe the lie.
There are a number of websites that promote or sell hoodia supplements that say “as seen on 60 minutes” or “endorsed by” followed by the logos of the BBC or the 60 minutes program. This is a misrepresentation because it leads many consumers to believe that the product being sold is endorsed by these two media giants. When, in all actuality, neither of them have endorsed or tested a hoodia diet supplement.
60 minutes did do a hoodia story on November 21, 2004. Reporter, Leslie Stahl, went to the Kalahari Desert in South Africa to see the hoodia gordonii plant growing in the wild. She wanted to eat a small piece of it herself to see if it affected her appetite. After eating the plant, Stahl reported the hoodia gordonii plant worked to suppress her appetite and she wasn’t hungry the entire day.
That’s all she said about hoodia. 60 minutes did not endorse any specific hoodia supplement. The CBS program didn’t even feature a hoodia supplement to begin with! You would never know this unless you actually read the transcripts of the 60 minutes program yourself. Unfortunately, all too many hoodia sellers have capitalized on this story and have twisted it to their advantage to sell more of their products.
Another example of how shady marketers are trying to get you to believe a lie is they have used the same tactics with the hoodia BBC report. Tom Mangold, BBC correspondent, did a show on hoodia in 2003. He, too, went to the Kalahari Desert to see for himself if the hoodia gordonii plant would affect his appetite. Not only did Mangold eat a small piece of the plant, but his camera man also ate a small piece of the hoodia gordonii plant. Afterwards they said they, “did not even think about food” that day. They went on to say they weren’t hungry for breakfast the following morning and their appetites for lunch were almost nonexistent.
As before with the hoodia 60 minutes report, the BBC did not test a specific hoodia supplement, or endorse one. All that Stahl and Mangold did was test the plant directly to get a first hand report on whether the plant controlled their appetites. Neither journalist endorsed or tested a particular hoodia supplement.
If you find yourself visiting a website that claims their product was featured on 60 minutes or the BBC, go to another site. Any company that would twist the hoodia 60 minutes or BBC reports to their own advantage is misrepresenting themselves and their product. They are not being honest. If they aren’t honest about something like this, how honest are they about the effectiveness and authenticity of their product?
