If there was a case that went through the criminal system with their name then it will come up in the search engines.
An example of this would be to enter something like the following: “Person Name + Los Angeles + California + Criminl Record.” You can try that or another word in place of criminal record such as court record. The key is to try and use different words in there to try and see if you can get any information at all about the person. Again you will need to get the person’s exact name to get the correct information. If the person has a very common first and last name then do your best to get the person’s middle name as well as this will cut down on confusion of the person with someone else. It will also help if you have the cities that the person has lived in as you can get criminal records in those cities as well.
Once you get the information that you need you can proceed accordingly. Having information that the new babysitter was arrested for abuse or that new neighbor has a history of theft then you will know what you need to do to keep your family and yourself out of harm’s way.
